TRASH SERIES
I’m fascinated by maximalism and the accumulation of objects. We acquire items through the lure of consumerism to eventually discard them. Each panel in this series carefully and deliberately portrays a narrative through miniature trash bags and boxes. These stories are not based on real experiences but are a mosaic of ideas and references. Discarded items can offer nuanced insights into the person who abandoned them. Trash can communicate both the end of something and a new beginning. The word “trash” may invoke negative connotations, however, I see the beauty within thrown-away things.
This collection of work was made for the Var Gallery’s 30x30 show where artists create 1 artwork a day for January. These works are for sale, contact me to inquire about purchasing.
